Good news for Twilight fans!
best-selling author Stephenie Meyer announced on Monday that she’s continuing the vampire love phenomenon with a new companion novel:is a retelling of the Twilight origin story from the perspective of hot, sparkly-skinned vampire Edward, whose sexual thirst for mere mortal teen Bella conflicts with his desire to drink her blood.
“As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life,” publisher Little, Brown in its synopsis. “How can he let himself fall in love with Bella when he knows that he is endangering her life?”is not a brand-new concept: After a 12-chapter manuscript leaked online in 2008, Meyer pressed pause on the book, but gave fans a taste by posting awould come together some day, making this mid-quarantine gift all the more delicious.
“It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure it was the right time to put this book out,” Meyer said via video on“but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn’t seem right to make you wait any more.” The news quickly awakened Twilight Twitter, which praised Meyer for retaining her literary power despite her long absence from the public eye.
