Stampeders’ Dedrick Mills hoping for another breakout ground game against Redblacks CFL
The Stamps backfield star sustained a foot injury in the 25-15 Week 1 loss to the BC Lions at McMahon Stadium and — with a boot on his wheel — he has been ruled out for the first road game of the 2023 campaign and beyond.
“He’s got some similarities to Ka’Deem,” Dickenson said. “He’s a downhill runner, he’s got some elusiveness, he can catch the ball, and he’s good in blocking. And Peyton, I thought honestly, did the right things in the pass game . I believe in Peyton being full-time back — running and passing game. The tough part for him is he’s also a returner. So we’re gonna have to mix and match.
“But most definitely, this is a team we can run against,” continued Mills. “They’ve got a pretty good defence at the end of the day. But we just got to go and execute all plays against their defence and we’ll get the results at the end doing that.”
