Police in Passaic County received calls about a Clifton man lighting clothes on fire inside an apartment. Officers later learned the man was a suspect in a stabbing that occurred three weeks ago.

Clifton police were called to the 300 block of Lexington Avenue after receiving calls of a man lighting clothes on fire inside an apartment, according to city police Det. Lt. Robert Bracken. Speaking with the man, they determined he was wanted for a stabbing that took place in the city a few weeks ago on Highland Avenue, Bracken said.
