The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the city of Needles, Calif., is rehabilitating the State Route 95 Needles Bridge, spanning over the Colorado River. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, Jan. 16 through the spring of 2023. The purpose of this project is to upgrade and preserve the existing concrete bridge structure. Built in 1978, the five-span, 566-foot-long Needles Bridge is located in both Arizona and California. In 2002, a project to repair the bridge joints was completed.Installing a new concrete bridge deck overlay to the existing bridge surface.Other work includes replacing the bridge bearing pads, replacing guardrail, installing pavement markings and other related work.
