Spotify CFO Barry McCarthy, who oversaw the company's unusual direct listing, will retire in January and rejoin its board
Barry McCarthy will retire as Spotify Technology SA’s finance chief, leaving the role in which he oversaw the company’s unusual direct stock listing and guided the streaming giant through its first year and a half on the public market.
Paul Vogel, head of investor relations, is to take over as CFO when Mr. McCarthy departs in mid-January. Mr. McCarthy, 66 years old, who has been the company’s No. 2 since 2015, will rejoin Spotify’s board pending shareholder approval.
