16,000 participants will run, walk, and roll down Yonge Street in the Mother’s Day fundraiser for Campfire Circle to help families going through a tough time.
Gianina Gaitana participated in the Sporting Life 10K run 10 years ago, championing its cause to raise money for Campfire Circle, a charity that provides camp-inspired experiences for kids and families affected by childhood cancer or serious illness.
“Campfire Circle has done so much in terms of supporting us through a really hard time in our life, it only makes sense to give back to them this year,” Gaitana said. “For more than 20 years, on Mother’s Day, Sporting Life and Torontonians have been running together for Campfire Circle and supported thousands of kids and families affected by childhood cancer or serious illness,” said Chad McKinnon, President of Sporting Life in a statement.
The funds from the race will fuel Campfire Circle’s year-round efforts to bring “healing through happiness” to kids and families through in-hospital, community, and overnight camp programs.
