Chaney Spencer, Lake Creek girls thwart Magnolia West to remain in first
Lake Creek sophomore guard Chaney Spencer scored 15 points to help lead her team to a 50-39 win over Magnolia West on Tuesday at home.MONTGOMERY — When the defense tightens on Lake Creek guard Chaney Spencer, it’s already lost. She has it right where she wants it.
Spencer finished with a game-high 15 points to go with four rebounds and three assists as the Lions improved to 9-1 in District 21-5A, 20-7 overall. Lake Creek remains tied for first with College Station. Magnolia West dropped to 4-6 in district play and remains part of a three-way race, along with Montgomery and Brenham, for the fourth and final playoff spot.
