I will use my platforms, my voice, my influence, and my finances to support Black and Brown communities and activism as often as I can, and with no apologies or disclaimer.
In college, I was an assistant to the head of the African-American Studies department. Years ago, I had the privilege of speaking about entrepreneurial life to an auditorium of young Black and Brown girls for Girls, Inc. I did mentoring workshops at an inner-city charter school. I’ve also worked with a Black theatre troupe to bring our stories to the stage. And yet, those things are nothing compared to what I could/should have contributed, plus that was then and this is now.
Speaking of which, to my White friends who have reached out to me with genuine concern, thank you, I value you deeply.
