The card offers the standard 25% back on in-flight purchases, but where its real value comes is with the annual perks. The value of the credit doesn’t carry over to the next year, but it can be easy to max it out just by booking a flight.
The card also offers 10,000 Companion Pass qualifying points each year. Like TQPs, you can’t use these points to book flights, but if you earn 135,000 qualifying points in a year, you’ll earn the Southwest Companion Pass, which allows you to choose one person to fly with you for a minimum of one year, and you only have to pay taxes and fees on their ticket. Depending on how often you fly with a companion, the pass could save you hundreds of dollars every year.
Up to $500 in purchase protection on eligible items that are stolen or damaged within 120 days of the purchase date when you use the card.
