A 4.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Southern California early Wednesday morning, with multiple aftershocks also reported in the area.
The initial earthquake was centered around 16 kilometers, or roughly 9.9 miles, south of Malibu Beach, California, in the Pacific Ocean and occurred at 2 a.m. local time, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.The Los Angeles Fire Department conducted a strategic survey of the city after the earthquake and found no damage or injuries reported, further saying the city has returned to normal operations.
No tsunami warnings, advisories, watches, or threats have been issued by the NOAA as a result of the earthquake.
