The closure from Interstate 635 to Royal Lane runs through the weekend and repeats again March 22 through 25.
Dallas North Tollway will see major closures in Dallas this weekend to make way for bridge repair work.
For the nearly 100,000 motorists who typically travel southbound on the tollway on weekends, it’ll mean finding alternate routes to destinations such as downtown Dallas and Love Field.East- and westbound I-635 to the southbound tollway direct-connector ramps.Typical weekend traffic for the southbound direction of the tollway is about 57,000 on Saturdays and 42,000 on Sundays.
The closures are to repair a portion of the bridge damaged in September after a truck carrying oversized equipment struck it, a North Texas Tollway Authority spokesperson confirmed. The crash did not cause any structural instabilities.All lanes of east- and westbound Northaven Rd. over the tollway will also be closed beginning Friday and continuing through mid-April.Eastbound Northaven Road drivers will be detoured to turn north on Inwood Road and make a right on Forest Lane.
Nearby message boards will alert drivers of the closures, which are subject to weather conditions. Drivers are advised to use caution in construction zones..
