Memorial Day for many marks the “unofficial” start to summer. But there’s nothing unofficial about the heat South Texas is about to experience in the upcoming three-day holiday weekend. In fact, temperatures are expected to reach the triple digits for the first time in 2024, and Memorial Day will be one of San Antonio ’s hottest on record. The extreme heat will be caused by a strong system of high atmospheric pressure centered over northern Mexico and South Texas .
With dew points that high, “feels like” temperatures are expected to max out between 107 and 112 degrees Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Dangerous heat For San Antonio, Saturday appears to have the highest chance of reaching “feels like” temps of above 110 degrees. That’s rare territory, even for South Texas. The highest “feels-like” temperature ever recorded in the Alamo City was 116 degrees, so we’re not expected to be too far off from that.
