Samuel L. Jackson explains how the Blip has changed Nick Fury in Secret Invasion. Nick Fury has been the all-knowing leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. since the agency was first introduced into the MCU, inviting Tony Stark to join his Avenger initiative at the end of Iron Man. Captain Marvel showed a new side of Fury as a young agent working with Carol Danvers, but now Secret Invasion will explore another layer of the enigmatic spy.

We hashed out what would happen. "Who was this? Who was that? Who was that?" The fact that he's been gone for the amount of time he's been gone, what the Blip meant to him, and how he was affected by it. Nick Fury, being the impervious know-all, be-all of everything... Something actually shook him.
He thinks enough of himself to create a cover, by having Talos pretend to be him. By the time he comes back, he thinks he's self-medicated himself in a way that allows him to come back and get in the game again. But everybody around him sees he's not that guy. Everybody but him sees he's not him.
