Old iPhones will stop working correctly on Sunday without a software update
Apple has released a new version of old software specifically for older phones because a GPS issue could cause them to stop working properly starting on Sunday, Nov. 3.
According to Apple, the affected models are iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad mini, iPad 2, and iPad 3rd generation.Some iPhones or iPads released in 2012 or earlier need a software update from Apple, or they will stop working correctly at 2 p.m. eastern time on Sunday, Nov. 3.
