Ten new fires were reported as of Sunday evening
The number of confirmed forest fires in northeastern Ontario continues to grow, with 10 new confirmed wildland fires in the Northeast Region as of early Sunday evening, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry's firefighting division.The Sudbury district saw several small fire starts late evening Saturday and on Sunday. Sudbury 16, 18, and 19 are all one hectare or less and located west of Spanish River Provincial Park.
AFFES said at the time of its Sunday evening update there were 30 active wildland fires across the Northeast Region. Of these, 24 were not yet under control, one was being held, one was being observed, and four were under control.
