Noel Francisco, the solicitor general of the United States, is leaving his position at the Department of Justice on July 3, the DOJ said Wednesday.

Francisco represented the Trump administration in Supreme Court cases including one involving President Donald Trump's travel ban on predominantly Muslim countries. A replacement wasn't named in the statement. Francisco's expected departure was reported last week by the New York Times, which noted it is not unusual for solicitors general to leave as the Supreme Court winds down its term.
