Although the incident was dealt with swiftly and reported to law enforcement and other appropriate authorities, Sobeys is also offering a one-year subscription to a credit monitoring service free of charge as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of individuals' information, according to a copy of the letter dated Feb. 13, 2023 obtained by The News.
The letter also states that although there is no evidence of the third party accessing or taking any personal information, it could have included names, emails and home addresses of employees and their dependents.The unauthorized third party may have also had access to workplace information such as hourly wages, workplace accident reports and benefit plan-related numbers.
