The Finance Secretary said she would be 'loath to challenge' the decision by the UK Government to block the legislation
“I think we have to,” he said. “I think if we lay down the first time the UK Government brought forward a Section 35 order, then they will do that for every single Bill they disagree with.”
“But I think on this, seek legal advice and recognise it is not a priority right now for the people of Scotland, who are focused on other things.” Asked if someone should simply be able to declare they are a woman if they were born a biological male, she replied: “I don’t think self-identification is sufficient.”
