The bulk of the precipitation for New Jersey is expected to fall Thursday night into Friday, forecasters say.

With the storm still a few days away, the National Weather Service has not issued snowfall predictions.
“A period of wintry precipitation is a possible at the outset along the urban corridor,” the weather service said, adding that snow, sleet and freezing rain are among the possibilities. “A more prolonged and significant wintry event will be possible farther north towards the Interstate 78 and especially the Interstate 80 corridor,” the weather service said in its Monday morning forecast discussion.
Though the timing of the storm’s arrival remains uncertain, the main event is expected to sweep across the state Thursday night into Friday morning.The lead-up to Thursday’s possible storm will be quiet and chilly. Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and highs only in the low 40s on Monday and Tuesday. Overnight temps will drop into the 20s.
