Environment Canada says a cold front is expected to sweep over Calgary starting on Tuesday. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for parts of Alberta, saying cooler temperatures are on the way and heavy snow is possible. A cold front will sweep south on Tuesday, and there will be evening snow for parts of western and southern Alberta, intensifying Wednesday and continuing until early Friday morning.
"Over 48 hours, snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm are expected for parts of southern Alberta. Higher amounts are possible over the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains," the statement said. Snowfall warnings are already in place for several parts of the province north and west of Calgary, including Red Deer County.After several days of spring-like conditions, Calgary can expect a high of just 5 C on Tuesday, with snow starting to fall around midnight.With files from CBC
