The New Brunswick government is demolishing the former Crescent Valley School at 84 Ropewalk Rd. and replacing it with a new elementary school designed to house 522 students. - Google Street View - ContributedSAINT JOHN, N.B. — The New Brunswick government has selected a site in the north end of Saint John for the construction of a new elementary school.

The new school will replace Hazen White-St. Francis School and Centennial School, which are both more than 55 years old. “A new school for north-end Saint John will inspire student learning and help us with our goal of building a better education system for New Brunswick.” New Brunswick will invest $3 million in the 2023-24 year for planning, design and site preparation. Construction is expected to begin next spring, with the school anticipated to open in September 2026.
