The Sister Antoinette DesRoches historical committee is now accepting nominations for the annual Gilbert Buote Award. Stock photoCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Sister Antoinette DesRoches historical committee is now accepting nominations for the annual Gilbert Buote Award.The award serves as a way to promote and inspire Acadian history and heritage projects in P.E.I.
Last year, the Roma at Three Rivers National Historic Site received the award for its 2021 summer program, as well as for a significant contribution over the years in bringing to life a page of Island history from the French Regime when the Island was known as Île Saint-Jean.
