Singh accuses Johnston of being 'tone-deaf' in refusing to step down cdnpoli

Singh has until now dismissed calls to end his party’s supply and confidence agreement with the Liberals, arguing that now is not the time to trigger an election when more needs to be done to protect democracy.

Conservative House leader Andrew Scheer accused the NDP of not being “serious” in their asks, since Singh has already let the Liberals know he would not pull out of their deal. Liberals have decided to follow Johnston’s main recommendation from his report, which is to conduct public hearings on the issue of foreign interference in the coming months.

Opposition parties have been criticizing Johnston for his connection with the prime minister’s family and the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation, in addition to his legal aide having donated to the Liberal Party of Canada in recent years.
