One person has died and 30 are injured after a Singapore Airlines flight was hit by turbulence, forcing it to divert to Bangkok.In a statement, the airline said Singapore Airlines Flight SQ321 made an emergency landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 15:45pm local time after encountering 'severe turbulence' en-route.'We can confirm that there are injuries and one fatality on board the Boeing 777-300ER. There were a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew on board,' the statement read.
'The flight was on its way from Heathrow Airport in London to Singapore.The Boeing 777 aircraft left the UK on Monday evening at 22.17 local time, flight tracking data showed, before requesting permission to make an emergency landing in Thailand.Several ambulances were reportedly seen on the tarmac preparing to treat passengers.
