It was the second bear report in Ottawa\u0027s west end in the past two days. On Tuesday, a black bear was spotted roaming around Kanata.
Bylaw services recommended people give the animal room if they spotted it. There was no update on whether the bear had been tracked down.
“It does seem like there have been more sightings in the west end than typical,” the councillor wrote in an email. The most common advice to residents is “to remove all potential food sources from their property — for example, empty bird feeders, remove drip pans from barbecues, put your green bin out the morning of pickup day rather than the night before, etc.”
