Vogue speaks to Morgane Sézalory of Sézane about taking Sézane’s anti French-girl styling global and finding fans in Bella Hadid, Sienna Miller and Selena Gomez.
In Morgane Sézalory, French fashion has found an anti-nonchalant ambassador.
Everything Sézane starts with Morgane herself, before the designer imagines all the women around her wearing the collection. “I was the only option for people who were looking for creativity and soul online,” she reflects going into the brand’s 10th-anniversary year. “The success of the company has been a consequence of the heart we [her now 200-strong team] put into it… I like to work in a very meaningful way.” Describing herself as the kind of CEO who skips international travel to hang out and ruminate over fabrics , Morgane’s mission is to protect the happiness at the core of her company.
