The Wrekin's MP Mark Pritchard has hailed Boris Johnson as a 'proven winner' but Ludlow's Philip Dunne said the country should be 'looking forward not back'.

Wrekin MP Mark Pritchard has backed a swift return for Boris Johnson

He said:"The Conservative Party is the most successful political party in history. The next election can still be won but we need a proven winner and someone who has broad appeal – someone who gets the big decisions right.Mr Pritchard's fellow county Conservative, the Ludlow MP Philip Dunne, said he would be supporting Mr Johnson's former Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, and that the party should look forwards, not backwards.

"He has got international credibility and I think he has got the sensitivity and deftness of political touch to unite the party, bring it together and put the country back into a place where we can take pride in being British again."
