Peacock's Shooting Stars tells the story of NBA legend LeBron James during his formative years in high school, but what does the movie's ending mean?
The ending to the Peacock original film, Shooting Stars, didn't have the clearest of conclusion as it left many questions unanswered. Based on the biography written by Buzz Bissinger, and produced by James himself, the sports biopic not only tells the story of LeBron James but his close-knit group of friends who played with him throughout his youth.
Having been fired as head coach of Central Michigan University, Dambrot was tapped to coach the illustrious basketball team of St. Vincent-St. Mary as the film depicted. He was lured away from the high school to coach for his alma mater, the University of Akron where he went on to have 13 successful years as the skipper of the team. What the film didn't mention was that he would eventually become the college's winningest coach.
Which Players Went To The NBA? As the ending of Shooting Stars cheekily referenced, LeBron James' career after high school is well-known to even the most casual sports fan. However, the lives of his best friends took different paths entirely from the man who would eventually be called "King James". Dru Joyce III played for Akron under Coach Dambrot, though he never cracked an NBA roster.
