BART police were investigating a shooting Friday afternoon at the Lake Merritt station in Oakland.
OAKLAND — A man was shot on a BART train Friday afternoon at the Lake Merritt station, officials said.The shooting was reported about 1:35 p.m. on a train bound from Dublin/Pleasanton to Daly City.
In an alert to the media, BART said the station was closed due to police activity shortly after the shooting. It was reopened around 2:15 p.m., according to a tweet from the transit agency. There were residual delays on the Berryessa line.
