After producing one of the greatest individual performances in Major League Baseball history, Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani offered a curious reason why he wanted to become baseball's first member of the 50-homer, 50-stolen base club.
Alex Torres, the Dodgers' home clubhouse manager, told the Los Angeles Daily News there's a standard protocol for negotiating with fans over historic baseballs.'What security normally does is they approach the fan to see what they'd like in exchange for that baseball,' Torres said in the 2017 interview. 'A lot of times fans are, 'OK, I'll take a signed ball.
