THIS is the shocking moment a spinning theme park ride plummets to the ground - leaving 11 people seriously injured.

Footage shows the ride operating normally - rotating with people high in the air - before plunging at high speed to the ground as people can be heard screaming. Police say the crash happened after a cable broke, detaching the spinning platform from the central column, and sending it hurtling to the ground.
