And I see Chris de Burg is coming to Halifax in 2023. It reminds me of my first show in 1983 and the joy that I've gained from concerts and the performing arts.It was a last-minute decision. We snagged two tickets just walking up to the box office at the Metro Centre.
I would have to say the performing arts are something my whole family has an appreciation for. And it was something we really missed during the height of the pandemic. As much as we supported the online performances and concerts, there’s no way to match the energy and excitement of the experience you get from hearing songs being performed live. And I’ll put stand-up comedy on that same plane. There’s something primal about a shared emotional ride through nostalgia or laughter.
I looked a few minutes ago, and one ticket to the GnR show in Moncton is showing a price of $265 US. On the floor in front of the band, they’re $3,000 US. And it’s likely a reseller site. Back in the olden days, you had to camp out at the box office of a venue in order to get your tickets. It wasn’t a virtual line. And the biggest pre-internet advancement for rural music lovers were the satellite box-offices that were put in grocery stores. Now there’s dynamically pricing.
