Shandro law society hearing to resume after provincial election abpoli

In a statement Tuesday, Nancy Bains, tribunal counsel for the Law Society of Alberta, said the hearing dates were decided based on the availability of lawyers and other hearing participants.Article content “Scheduling of hearings is contingent upon the schedules of the tribunal office, the hearing committee adjudicators, the parties, their counsel and witnesses,” Bains wrote. “The tribunal office works with all participants to find the earliest mutually available dates. Like other administrative tribunals, the law society seeks to strike a balance between the efficient conclusion of proceedings and procedural fairness.
She said hearing committees typically reserve their decisions, which are issued in writing three to four months later. If the cited lawyer is found guilty, a sanction hearing is then scheduled.
