According to a just-released economic survey, high housing prices and lots of layoffs are hitting the Bay Area's bottom line hard. But it also found a reason for optimism in the future.
The Economic Institute developed the index in partnership with the commercial real estate firm CBRE and its Tech Insights Center.
"One of the biggest root causes is our affordability issue and the cost of living here, and a big reason for that is that we don't build enough housing,” said Raisz. NBC Bay Area's Raj Mathai spoke with Business and Tech Reporter Scott Budman about the Bay Area's economic outlook.
