The sentencing of an RNC officer was postponed yesterday when the judge made it clear he couldn’t go along with what the Crown and defence were proposing.
That led to submissions on the low end, with the defence proposing a suspended sentence and the Crown conceding house arrest and counselling, with no mention of jail time. There was also minimal reference to the victim, with the effects on her largely told through impact statements filed with the court.
