The mayor of Chestermere has defended Kim Wallace, calling the charge a \u0022distorted claim.\u0022

"We should not allow the toxicity created by lies and rumours to permeate our city," Wallace said in a statement send to Postmedia.A top-level administrative official at the City of Chestermere has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge related to an alleged January altercation with a staff member within the city’s offices.
