The Senate voted to repeal the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force against Iraq on Wednesday, about a week after the 20-year anniversary of the US invasion of the country.

“We should never send our sons and daughters overseas without the consent of the American people through their elected representatives,” Sen. Dick Durbin said in a statement.
