Senate on cusp of rebuking Trump over national-emergency declaration
The Senate is preparing to rebuke President Donald Trump Thursday over his national-emergency declaration at the U.S.-Mexico border, the Washington Post writes, after Trump rejected a GOP compromise aimed at curtailing presidential emergency powers in the future.
House Mueller vote: Also Thursday, reports CNN, House Democrats are expected to vote on a resolution calling for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report to be released to the public once it is completed.
But even those who were deeply offended by Omar’s comments about Israel concede they have not found anyone to challenge her, the Hill says. After a nearly 18-percentage-point primary win last summer, Omar beat her Republican rival in November by a 78%-to-21.7% margin.
