The quake damaged streets, buildings, and structures, including West Lake Junior High in the Granite School District. "We're one of the oldest school districts in the state due to our historical buildings," Horsley said. With roughly 80 percent of the state's population living close to the Wasatch Fault, and that number only growing, she said it's crucial to mitigate risks.
