Focused on a marriage that falls into pieces, Noah Baumbach’s latest awards contender comes with two very different trailers
Jennifer Jason Leigh“Because I’ve gone through a divorce and also been through it as a child, there are things from my experience that of course I could draw from,” he said. “But it also gave me a real opportunity to talk to friends of mine. I mean, so many people have gone through this experience, and it’s not spoken about a lot . . . Divorce is like death in a way,” he said.
“When it happens to you, people can speak about it, but no one really wants to speak about it who’s not in it. I just felt like there was a way to make a movie that was both very much about this subject and also totally transcend it.”and marks his second collaboration with Netflix after 2017’sThe film will will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 29th, then continue along the circuit with pitstops at TIFF and the New York Film Festival.
