A Ukrainian veterinarian is being praised for traveling throughout the war-weary nation to rescue animals caught in the fighting.

Jakub Kotowicz, 32, has reportedly saved more than 60 dogs and 200 cats across three convoys from Lviv amid the crossfire of the Russian invasion.The veterinarian entered Ukraine after he joined a caravan from the Polish border city of Przemysl, according to a report.One of the animals rescued by Kotowicz was a dog named Vira.

He wants to buy another ambulance and redesign a pizza store into a location for the animals and a supply hub, according to Kotowicz. Jakub Kotowicz loves animals so much he decided he wanted to spend his life healing them. But the vet never thought he'd suddenly be inundated w animals rescued from war in #Ukraine. "All the cats are very stressed, the journey from Lviv is one day and we crossed the border with a diplomatic pass but the queue from Ukraine was very long," Kotowicz said."We are preparing the animals for an adoption process. Sometimes the animals which are in very poor condition will be with us for two or three months. Some people came here and were asking if we had their cat.
