MiKayla Pickett, 8, and a then-14-year-old girl were at a birthday party when they were caught in the crossfire, police said.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of an 8-year-old girl in Akron.
MiKayla and a then-14-year-girl were caught in the middle of gunfire that erupted outside a residence in the 700 block of Roselle Avenue on Aug. 14, 2020. The teenager was hurt in the shooting. The girls had been at a birthday party, police said. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, a unit of the U.S. Marshals Service, and Akron investigators tracked Suggs to a residence in the 1300 block of Nester Avenue and took him into custody without incident, police said.
