"Our staff set a live trap and captured the animal," said spokesperson Erin Lynk in an emailed response to an interview request. "We believe it was the best decision both for the raccoon and for wildlife as a whole," Lynk said."We have sent the animal to the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative in P.E.I. for testing."
Bears and deer are two that can have hair loss when affected by diseases, mange, parasites or alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss that is not contagious.
