Week 6: San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks, October 10th, 5:15 p.m., Lumen Field, Seattle, WA – Prime Video Preseason Prediction: 49ers 24-22
The first five weeks put on tape by the 49ers look much different than the 49ers of the last 5 years. The formations and schemes are the same, but the insane speed and aggression is not showing up this year on either side of the ball. Even with the considerable injuries the Seahawks have a real shot to win this game at home on primetime in front of the nation.
The 49ers will attempt to attack the Seahawks struggling guards with A and B gap pressure and will also send Bosa to rush Forsythe’s side often. If they can’t pressure Geno in the pocket then they will have a hard time getting the Seahawks off of the field, as the 49ers allow 4.7 yards per carry to opposing rushers. Walker and Charbonnet will have room to run and could control the tempo of the game if the 9ers can’t get the Seahawks behind the sticks early.
The combination of the new Seahawks offensive scheme and injuries to the 49ers give the Seahawks offense an advantage. They’ll return to a balanced attack and control the tempo of the game on their way to putting upThe 49ers offense is at full strength minus ’23 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey. Jordan Mason has done an excellent job replacing McCaffrey, putting up the 2nd most rushing yards and most runs over 10 yards in the NFL.
