After a week that featured below-normal temperatures and a Friday storm that arrived amid enough warm air to dodge a potential ice storm, the next seven days look exceptionally uneventful for central Pennsylvania. Temperatures are forecast to moderate through the week, according to the National Weather Service , and outside of an East Coast storm that appears to be targeting parts of the Carolinas on Sunday night and then southern New England late Monday, no precipitation is forecast.
Before we get too far into this month, a look at January showed temperatures that overall were a bit below normal and average snowfall. Average highs were 35.6 and average lows were 20.6 . A total of 9.5 inches of snow fell, which is right about what the month normally delivers. Jan. 2 was the warmest day of the month and Jan. 15 was the coldest. It got down as low as 9 degrees on Jan. 16 and Jan. 27.
