The Seahawks (8-6) lost their NFC West lead, their playoff spot, and Geno Smith all in one miserable night.
The Seattle Seahawks went from leading the NFC West to a total disaster in front of what felt like a Green Bay Packers home crowd at Lumen Field on Sunday Night Football. Geno Smith suffered a potentially significant knee injury in the third quarter of the Seahawks’ 30-13 loss to the Packers, who scored on their first four possessions and never really looked back.
At last, the Packers were forced into a punt! Leonard Williams blew up a 3rd and 1 run by Josh Jacobs for Seattle’s first tackle for loss all game. A bad punt gave the Seahawks the ball at the Packer 46, not too far from where they punted on the previous drive. After a Geno Smith dime to Tyler Lockett on play-action for a gain of 21, a busted screen and a low shot by Edgerrin Cooper hurt Smith. He was hobbled after suffering a lower leg injury and came out for the rest of the drive.
