He called the named officer “a grass” and stated he followed him home from a police station

Leigh Sutherland, 29, made the remarks towards the officer at Kirkintilloch Post Office, East Dunbartonshire, on June 9, 2021.He also stated that he knew what car he drives.Sutherland pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The court heard police received an anonymous email in the early hours of June 10 that Sutherland was making a live broadcast on TikTok. Prosecutor Gail Campbell said: “During the broadcast he stated ‘I get a buzz off the police right, I get a buzz off the police’.”Sutherland added: “He shifted us. He is a community police officer and I know what car he drives.”

Inquiries were made to make sure the officer was okay and he was requested to attend Kirkintilloch police office, where he was informed about the broadcast.Atlanta Jack, defending, told the court Sutherland had previous issues with Kirkintilloch police station and was angry towards the police.The lawyer added: “He decided to take to social media and made the awful comments about the police.

Sheriff Valerie Mays ordered Sutherland to do 108 hours of unpaid work and put him under supervision for 12 months.
