Temperatures have been milder in recent days but more typical winter weather is on its way as January comes to an end.
Parts of Scotland are set to be battered by gale force winds in the last few days of January with guts of up 75mph sweeping through the country.
There is also a chance of rain at the end of the weekend before strong winds arrive in other parts of Scotland on Monday and get progressively worse until Tuesday night. Alex Burkill of the Met Office told the Scottish Sun: "There’s a fair bit of uncertainty at present but gusts of 75mph, perhaps even stronger, seem likely, peaking through Tuesday evening and the start of the night.
