New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman got a send-off for his four years as general manager as he heads toward his likely firing (or retirement).
Vallillo, like many Giants fans, was a little higher on Judge a year ago. Not so much anymore, not after his rant or the miserable nature of this season, a 4-12 record and many blowout losses.
“He created the clown show. He created it himself,” Vallillo said. “He said he can be booed out of the stadium today, and he should be.” When Gettleman finally walked inside after saying his final goodbyes before kickoff, another fan yelled: “Enjoy Cape Cod!”, a reference to a quote from him in 2019 where he said he hope was to retire to Cape Cod knowing that he left the Giants with a franchise quarterback. His best attempt at finding that: Daniel Jones, who missed the final six games of the season with a neck injury.
It’s still unclear if the Giants have their franchise quarterback. But Gettleman will get his chance to retire to Cape Cod anyway, after four years and a 19-45 record as general manager.
