As of Thursday, the province’s Ministry of Health is releasing community respiratory illness surveillance program reports — CRISP reports — combining COVID-19 monitoring with reporting of influenza and other respiratory illnesses. Between Oct. 2 and 8, 162 people were admitted to hospital for COVID-19, nine people were in intensive care and five deaths were reported. According to the report, hospitalizations for COVID-19 have “plateaued” at about 160 admissions per week, and ICU admissions at about nine per week.
